On February 14th, many celebrate a day to acknowledge love, especially the romantic kind. Here at In The Dollhouse,  there is another reason to celebrate love and that is due to the anniversary of the book. Yes! It is the 2-year anniversary of this fictional tale of a common housewife and mother living in Southern California, sharing intricate details of the livelihood of the everyday female nurturer. It may not be that exciting to those still searching for a perfect love, but for those curious enough, it can elevate senses on a different level. The second book is in process and will be due out soon. It cannot be specified when the book will be available, but work is in progress to ensure its availability. After all, the series must go on. For, even if a few learn from its deeper meaning, they will come to understand that yes, most of it is pure imagination from the heart and soul. This post on the second day of the new year proves how busy I am as a parent, worker, household organizer, and plain human being. Yes! I am, as most of us are on Earth, a plain human being, no matter what beauty, wisdom, or loads of love I offer to those around me who may or may not see it. I am me; you are you - together we can be a lot more if we just allow our potential and well-being to grow equally. Like so many other writers, I try to find a special time to write in the most luscious of settings. Sure, a fireplace, oak desk, and trays filled with treats and lattes would be the most ideal setting, but being real writers in the real world, most of us take what time and opportunity we can get and roll with it. Admittedly, I am running behind in Book 2 of my series as I cannot find the file nor do I have time to look for it. It is not entirely like losing a child, but it does crack my heart that I cannot work on it with the attention and care I have to finish such a well-polished...

I had the idea to change the blog on this site to one of happiness found at home. Many persons, mostly moms, get a bit overwhelmed when it comes to cleaning, organizing, and running a household; yet, most are told to just keep going, put on a smile, and do not sweat! Sweating is good for releasing toxins from the body, though. I wonder what many (parents) think about being so busy to the point of wanting to go stir-crazy when he or she finds 'emselves at home - alone. Will that person find him or her self sleepy or end up doing something wild while staying at peace with one's self? None of us can really tell when it comes to the story of family! From Chapter 14, "Time to Shop" I scroll through messages on Twitter, but my mind continues to wander off to the last time I sat on Alex's lap, laughing, or when he had told me one of his amazing stories - particularly, relating to other cities and even countries. He used to tell me a great deal about the progression of CAL Mastery, as well as how he and Drew made such a great team. Vacation Time. From the time I had decided to self-publish, I realized I had also needed some time to unwind. I have been using the last six months to relax with and focus on family. It has been incredible and I love to spend time with my family. Although I must look into promotion, marketing, and a bunch of how-to's now that I have published my first fictional novel, the journey has been quite unique. I am still so proud of my book and cannot wait to share it with so many others. The purpose of my book is to bring more information on marriage, family, relationships, and love. I hope many take the time to read it, as well as possibly find it somewhat useful.

It is about to be August and I have many plates to wash, put away, and then reuse. I am one busy person, and sure, writing and being an author is on the back burner, when really, it should be in the forefront. I have chosen a life, however, where I prefer to run a family and household while trying to work, balance a budget, and do what I can to stay sane as a woman and parent. The book In The Dollhouse is independently published. In fact, it was published a month ago to date. The reason I decided to self-publish is to keep my work original. In truth, it may have been to control it. It was my story to tell, and perhaps, it is my story to promote. Actually, I must promote it and see if other (women) can relate to it. From Chapter 10, " At The Pharmacy" As I look at various beauty products, I think about the same, daunting look I have had for years. When I worked at CAL Mastery, I often got my hair and nails done almost every month. I also wore a lot of red clothing, as well as red lipstick. Now that I am mostly home, however, I have let myself go, tremendously! I have not bought anything new for myself since the kids started to play sports and do their music lessons. I had believed I was one of those "supermoms"—the ones who seemingly do not put much emphasis into their looks, but instead, focus on being their children’s number one fan. My book is published! I am officially an author. Although it took incredible time, dedication, stamina, and strength to finish In The Dollhouse, it is my dream come true! Not only am I able to tell a story, but I have completed a compilation of my deepest thoughts and imagination, and have even attached a part of my soul to it. The date of publication is aimed towards Valentine's Day. I cannot imagine a better day to reveal the essence of love than a day which celebrates it. Although my book, In The Dollhouse , follows a path to self-discovery, it mostly centers on self-confidence while having a family in today's world. Though the fictional tale journeys into the daily task of raising a family, parenting, and sustaining a marriage, it also carries an undertone of how to keep it together - all of it! What separates this tale from others is at some point, a few of us may just suddenly feel all alone one day. Here is the update on In The Dollhouse . The book is currently in its proofing period and will likely be done in late October or early November. Due to holidays and upcoming personal agendas, however, In The Dollhouse may not be released until early next year. Although it should include a written acknowledgment on the art of independent craftsmanship, including any unforeseen blemishes or grammatical errors (though, very few are expected,) it will not. The author takes her writing seriously and strives for perfection when it comes to her debut novel, so no acknowledgment is needed. Liz is experienced in the art of writing and storytelling. F.Y.I. Liz has chosen to self-publish her novel to retain most rights. She believes in standing behind her own work and plans to distribute and promote it, accordingly.
