Happyness at Home blog
-a quarterly update on happenings at home and how to manage it.

Jan. to Mar. 2021

Summer has ended and with how things are going for the USA with COVID-2019, the novel and deadly strain of coronaviruses, it is wise to still take care of self and each other! We must continue to stay healthy and helpful as the virus affects seniors and the vulnerable terribly when it comes to health concerns and needs, even including that of sepsis or stroke. The stress and uncertainty of this disease is still cause for concern as we try to remain calm and navigate our life during these abnormal times.

While many continue to social-distance and wear facial masks, there is reportedly an increase in internet usage and isolation. Even if more are stuck indoors, it is a good time to stay in touch with family and friends, and also, to work. We may be able to work from home, and if not, we may have to comply with policies and procedures which use an abundance of caution. Even so, many of us should find ways to cope. This may include taking a drive to unwind or going to a loved one's house and dropping off something which shows expressions of love or friendship. If some of us are more comfortable being alone, there is no problem with that, but studies have shown it is healthier to interact with others, exercise, or meditate. One of the first previous posts of Happyness move is posted below. It is still relevant at this time and would be smart to utilize, if possible. The moves are listed below:

[Previously]
As the USA focuses more on the new year which includes winter ... and the coming springtime, it is good to focus on goals, but let us not forget to be kind and patient with one another. This may be easy to type out, but perhaps, not act out. That is why many of us need to remember to simply be kind.
For the remainder of the season, let us cherish those who are not only there for us, but to whom we want to return the favor. It is a dynamic relationship to work with others and go through the ups-and-downs of life. It is also grand to forgive, and if one must forget and move on, so be it.
Each quarter, there will be a Happyness move*, which is about respecting, admiring, and getting in touch with one's true self in order to be cheerful and spread cheer towards others. For example, to honor the start of this blog, the first quarter will focus on a loved one who may be overdue for some type of connection. Put down the pride, pick up the phone, computer, or even paper and pen, and take that first step to re-connect with love. (Updated: 07/03/2020)

Random Act of Happyness -
  • Winter, 2021 (continued) - Happyness move: Say one kind word to a family member, randomly. There will be no strings attached; it will be in good faith. We want to spread kindness to those we truly love and trust. Find someone who equals family.
  • Spring, 2021 (continued) - Happyness move: Take time to appreciate yourself!  Give yourself a gratitude break by taking a deep breath and thinking of one pleasant thought of yourself. This may include an unique trait, an accomplishment, or a kind gesture. End the break with a genuine smile and carry on that smile throughout the day- in fact, let's make it a week and then weeks! Remind yourself that you are doing okay and everyone needs a break!
  • Summer, 2021 (continued) - Happyness move: Smile often. Even in uncertain times, studies have shown that smiling improves one's mood. Try it out by unexpectedly smiling in a situation which may be unpleasant or tricky. Take a moment, if needed.
  • Fall, 2020 - Happyness move: Breathe and do not think! Even in this unique time, it is important to provide oxygen to your body. It is also important to relax. Take a moment; take two or three, if needed - relax and breathe.
*Happyness move, an act of kindness.

Happyness at Home blog*

I had the idea to change the blog on this site to one of happiness found at home. Many persons, mostly moms, get a bit overwhelmed when it comes to cleaning, organizing, and running a household; yet, most are told to just keep going, put on a smile, and do not sweat! Sweating is good for releasing toxins from the body, though. I wonder what many (parents) think about being so busy to the point of wanting to go stir-crazy when he or she finds 'emselves at home - alone. Will that person find him or her self sleepy or end up doing something wild while staying at peace with one's self? None of us can really tell when it comes to the story of family! And, that is what we all are... family. Some members manage to stay in touch, some manage to get along, and some drift apart. That is okay, too! As long as we all keep going even when things do not go our way. For those who may feel isolated, angry, anxious, or depressed, this blog is for ya! This entire website focuses on positive outl

Happy New Year, 2020!

This post on the second day of the new year proves how busy I am as a parent, worker, household organizer, and plain human being. Yes! I am, as most of us are on Earth, a plain human being, no matter what beauty, wisdom, or loads of love I offer to those around me who may or may not see it. I am me; you are you - together we can be a lot more if we just allow our potential and well-being to grow equally. Like so many other writers, I try to find a special time to write in the most luscious of settings. Sure, a fireplace, oak desk, and trays filled with treats and lattes would be the most ideal setting, but being real writers in the real world, most of us take what time and opportunity we can get and roll with it. Admittedly, I am running behind in Book 2 of my series as I cannot find the file nor do I have time to look for it. It is not entirely like losing a child, but it does crack my heart that I cannot work on it with the attention and care I have to finish such a well-polished
